Banking Malware-as-a-Service: ‘Mr Robot’ Gang Targets Indian Users

Cybersecurity firm CloudSEK has uncovered a cybercriminal syndicate named "Mr Robot" that operates a subscription-based "Malware-as-a-Service" platform targeting Indian banking customers. Renting out customized Android trojans disguised as bank, utility, and government apps, the syndicate allows fraudsters to steal OTPs, divert verification calls, and harvest sensitive financial credentials, including UPI PINs, Aadhaar details, and net-banking logins.
