Hackers Hijack Russian Emergency App to Broadcast False Public Alerts

Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations suffered a major cyberattack targeting its official mobile application, causing fake public warning alerts to be pushed to users across the country. According to state news agency TASS, the breach forced IT teams to take immediate countermeasures and work to restore compromised app servers while security specialists investigate the origin and scope of the attack.
