80% of APAC CIOs Will Adopt Edge Services by 2027 to Power GenAI

A new IDC study commissioned by Akamai reveals an emerging “Edge Evolution”: by 2027, 80% of CIOs in the Asia-Pacific region plan to deploy edge services from cloud providers to meet the performance, scalability, and compliance needs of GenAI workloads. With 31% of enterprises already in production and 64% in pilot stages, centralized cloud struggles are driving a shift toward distributed infrastructure.
