Amazon Alters Alexa Privacy Settings, Sending All Voice Recordings to Cloud

Amazon disabled key privacy features in its Alexa devices, resulting in all voice recordings being sent to the cloud for processing. Previously, certain Echo models allowed users to opt for local processing with the "Do Not Send Voice Recordings" setting; however, this option has been removed. Users can still choose not to save recordings, but this will disable personalized features like Voice ID. Amazon states that these changes support the introduction of AI-powered capabilities.
