Amazon Employees Demand Halt to AI Push Over Climate and Job Fears
Over 1,000 anonymous Amazon employees sent an open letter to CEO Andy Jassy, warning that the company's aggressive AI push is causing "staggering damage" to climate goals, jobs, and democracy. The workers, including engineers and warehouse staff, accused Amazon of accelerating AI development at the cost of its net-zero carbon commitments and increasing layoffs, while also aiding surveillance and militarization.
