Anthropic Launches Opus 5.5 With Lower Costs and Fable-Level Performance

Anthropic has released Opus 5.5, calling it its strongest-performing model yet. The model is cheaper and faster than its predecessor, with improved coding, reasoning and communication. Anthropic says its capabilities are comparable to Fable in biology and cybersecurity, so it carries similar safeguards. The launch comes as Anthropic focuses on pacing AI capability advances alongside safety improvements.
