AstroForge Puts AI in Command of Its Next Spacecraft

AstroForge is developing “Solo,” a transformer-based AI control system designed to autonomously operate spacecraft and resolve anomalies without constant instructions from Earth. Its upcoming DeepSpace-2 will test the system in shadow mode, while the company plans a fully autonomous mission in 2027. The approach combines traditional controls with AI models trained on thousands of spacecraft sensors.
