Atlassian Announces 10% Workforce Reduction as Company Pivots to AI Strategy

Atlassian is cutting approximately 10% of its workforce, or 1,600 employees, to realign resources toward artificial intelligence and enterprise sales. CEO Mike Cannon-Brookes stated that while AI isn't replacing people, it is fundamentally changing the skills required for the future of teamwork. The company expects to incur up to $236 million in restructuring charges as it streamlines operations to stay competitive in an evolving, AI-driven software market.
