Following Ford's lead, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) apologized for an AI-driven "error" after replacing customer service staff with an ineffective voice bot. Facing a surge in unmanaged customer calls, CBA rescinded the layoffs and offered affected employees their jobs back, admitting it rushed the technology and failed to adequately assess human roles before making cuts.
