Cisco CEO Vows AI Will Boost Engineers’ Productivity—Not Trigger Layoffs
Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins emphasized the company’s AI strategy is focused not on cutting jobs, but on empowering engineers to “innovate faster and be more productive.” In contrast to peers reducing headcount amid AI adoption, Cisco is doubling down on AI infrastructure—securing over $800 million in orders last quarter and exceeding its $1 billion FY25 target. For now, layoffs are not part of Cisco’s AI roadmap.
