Clearview AI faces another GDPR fine from French privacy watchdog
Clearview AI, a facial recognition startup, is facing another fine under GDPR regulations from France’s privacy watchdog, CNIL. This follows a previous fine of €50 million in 2021 by CNIL for similar violations. Clearview AI is accused of illegally harvesting data from individuals’ social media accounts for their facial recognition database without obtaining consent. The new fine amount has not been disclosed yet.
