DeepSeek AI Researcher Warns of Negative Societal Impact
Chen Deli, a senior researcher at Chinese AI developer DeepSeek, expressed pessimism about AI's long-term societal effects during the World Internet Conference. While optimistic about the technology itself, Chen warned that AI could lead to widespread job losses in 5-10 years as it takes over human work. He urged tech companies to take a "defender" role against these massive societal challenges.
