Digg Shuts Down Beta and Lays Off Staff Amid AI Bot Invasion

Digg has pulled its mobile app and laid off a significant portion of its workforce just two months after launching its public beta. Leadership cited an "unprecedented" surge in sophisticated AI-driven bots that manipulated voting systems and compromised platform integrity. While the site is currently offline, founder Kevin Rose will return full-time to lead a strategic reorganization.
