Google’s Next Silicon Play: Hardwiring Gemini directly onto AI Chips

Google is developing a new server chip, codenamed "Frozen v2," that bakes Gemini model data directly into its hardware. Target-designed for 2028 deployment alongside existing TPUs, the custom silicon aims to be 6 to 10 times more power-efficient. This move directly targets an ongoing AI compute crunch that has recently forced Google Cloud to turn away potential enterprise clients.
