India seeks AI solutions from IT firms, startups to reduce power loss

<p>The government, to tackle high distribution losses, aims to bring in AI, Machine learning, Blockchain, and IoT through existing IT firms and startups. India's AT&C losses are among the highest in the world, surpassing even Bangladesh, creating a serious threat to the entire power sector's financial viability. Discoms will be well-equipped to make judgments on loss reduction and demand forecasting in a day, and renewable energy integration using new technologies.</p>
