Is Coding Dead? Andrew Ng Disagrees with Claude's Creator

Google Brain co-founder Andrew Ng published an open letter addressing Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei’s claim that AI will soon make traditional coding obsolete. While Amodei advocates for "loop engineering" (where AI handles the entire build-and-test cycle), Ng argues coding remains vital. He insists developers must still understand core programming to effectively guide, debug, and safely supervise AI agents.
