Meta Unplugs AI Tool That Could Clone Anyone’s Instagram Likeness

Meta has pulled a controversial feature from its new "Muse Image" AI model after intense backlash from privacy advocates and Hollywood. The tool allowed users to generate AI deepfakes of adults with public Instagram accounts simply by tagging them. Meta admitted the tool "missed the mark," specifically citing outrage over an aggressive policy that automatically opted in all public users by default.
