OpenAI launched GPT-Live, a next-generation voice system allowing real-time, two-way conversations with ChatGPT. Built on a full-duplex architecture, the AI listens and speaks simultaneously, lets users interrupt mid-sentence, and handles background noise. It can perform web searches using GPT-5.5 while continuing to speak. Rolling out globally across iOS, Android, and web, Plus and Pro subscribers get premium models, while free tiers access GPT-Live-1 mini.
