OpenAI Subpoenas AI Regulation Advocate
Nathan Calvin, a policy lawyer at Encode AI, claimed that OpenAI dispatched a sheriff’s deputy to serve him a subpoena at his home. The subpoena sought Calvin’s private communications with California legislators, college students, and former OpenAI employees. Calvin believes this action was part of OpenAI’s broader legal strategy to intimidate critics amid its countersuit against Elon Musk.
