OpenAI’s New Decisions API Could Help Control Rogue AI Agents More Efficiently

OpenAI has introduced a Decisions API, a fast, low-cost system that lets AI models choose between predefined options, such as classifications or agent behaviors. TechCrunch compares it with TypeSafe AI’s Jev model and highlights a potential use in monitoring AI agents. A separate model could check each agent action and block or flag suspicious behavior at far lower cost than using a frontier LLM for every decision.
