Qualcomm Unveils Two New Smartphone Chips Built for On-Device AI

Qualcomm has launched the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, designed to bring more AI processing directly to smartphones. The chips can support local AI agents, speaker recognition and personalized features, while the Extreme version can run a 30-billion-parameter mixture-of-experts model locally.
