Sam Altman Clarifies: OpenAI Will Not Seek AI Government Bailout
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman strongly denied the company will seek government guarantees for its AI data center spending spree, which is estimated at $1.4 trillion over eight years. Altman clarified that taxpayers should not bail out companies making bad business decisions. He confirmed the company's only government discussions were about potential loan guarantees for US-based semiconductor plants, but no formal application was made.
