Shikha Goel Urges AI Governance to Be Society’s Protective Shield
Shikha Goel—Director General of Telangana Cyber Security Bureau—highlighted that AI is a “double-edged sword,” empowering both innovation and sophisticated fraud such as deepfakes and scams. With the Bureau receiving hundreds of cybercrime reports daily, she stressed that trust is foundational to technology, governance, cybersecurity, and privacy. She urged that accountability, collaboration, and capacity-building are essential to ensure AI acts as society’s shield, not its detriment.
