Strategic Pivot: Amazon Shelves Nova AI Models to Pursue Frontier Tech

Amazon is overhauling its artificial intelligence strategy by deprecating most of its flagship in-house Nova AI models, including its high-end Premier, Omni, Reel, and Canvas systems. Following recent layoffs within its AGI team, the company is reallocating resources toward a new frontier-model research initiative led by Pieter Abbeel. Amazon plans to unveil its new flagship frontier AI model at its annual re:Invent conference later this year.
