To reduce bias in online ad targeting, IBM is tapping into AI tools

<p>IBM is using AI tools to ensure fairness when showing ads. In the next six months, a team of 14 professionals will be researching this issue, exploring ways to spot and mitigate unintended bias. Studies have found that for a decade some audiences including Black people and women can be excluded from seeing jobs, housing, and other ads. Following some changes, clients could be pitched anti-bias ad software offers.</p>
