Instagram is cracking down on artificial personas by introducing an "AI-generated profile" label and cutting the algorithmic reach of accounts that fail to disclose synthetic humans. Aimed at improving transparency for users deceived by hyper-realistic digital avatars, the policy penalizes unlabeled accounts by excluding them from Explore and recommendations, while exempting human creators who merely use AI tools for content editing.
