Frenemies Detour: Uber and Waymo End Phoenix Robotaxi Pact

Uber and Alphabet’s Waymo have quietly ended their three-year robotaxi partnership in Phoenix, removing Waymo's autonomous vehicles from the Uber app. While their joint operations continue in Austin and Atlanta, Waymo has reabsorbed its Phoenix fleet to serve passengers exclusively via its own app. Meanwhile, Uber is already prepping a separate, unnamed self-driving partnership to replace them in the desert city.
