a16z Backs $100M ‘Leading the Future’ Super-PAC to Shape Pro-AI Regulation
Venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz is joining a coalition of Silicon Valley investors in launching a $100 million political initiative—Leading the Future—aimed at influencing U.S. AI policy. The super-PAC network seeks to counter “unnecessary regulation” by supporting pro-AI candidates and promoting innovation-friendly legislation. Backers include OpenAI’s Greg Brockman, Perplexity, Ron Conway, and Joe Lonsdale. Political strategists Zac Moffatt and Josh Vlasto are leading the campaign.
