AI Boom Forces Samsung’s $4 Billion Shift to Vietnam

Samsung is investing up to $4 billion to build its first-ever chip-testing facility in Vietnam. Located north of Hanoi, the project starts with a $1.5 billion initial investment to open two factories by 2027 and 2031, creating 3,750 jobs.As the AI boom consumes premium chip supply, this facility will strictly focus on legacy DRAM and NAND memory chips to alleviate severe global shortages in everyday electronics.
