Airtel to invest Rs 1.17 lakh crore to accelerate 5G rollout

<p>Bharti Airtel has announced a funding of Rs 1.17 lakh cr which will make up the expenditure that is required for 5G operation/rollout. Airtel’s subsidiaries, Bharti Hexacom, Indus Towers and Nxtra will be collectively investing the amount in the span of four to five years. In the regulatory filing to NSE, the company acknowledged the fact that India is on the verge of country-wide deployment of 5G and it is essential that telecom operators get sufficient funds at this stage.</p>
