Anthropic has fired off a complaint letter to the US Senate, accusing Chinese tech titan Alibaba of launching a massive "distillation attack." The AI lab claims Alibaba deployed roughly 25,000 fraudulent accounts to run 28.8 million exchanges with its Claude models. Anthropic asserts this illicit data harvesting was a deliberate, coordinated effort to siphon its advanced capabilities and aggressively accelerate China’s own AI development.
