Amazon Intensifies Nvidia Rivalry, Weighs Third-Party AI Chip Sales

Following CEO Andy Jassy’s ambitions to challenge Nvidia, Amazon Web Services (AWS) is in discussions to sell its custom Trainium AI chips directly to third-party data centers. Amazon's AI chief, Peter DeSantis, revealed that booming global computing demand is driving the shift, with its latest Trainium3 chips already largely sold out and immense early interest backing next year's Trainium4.
