Amazon Lay Off Hundreds of Employees in India

<p>The US giant Amazon has chosen to shutter a chunk of its operations in India. The exits will result in only a few hundred layoffs from a workforce of thousands. The slowdown in India highlights Amazon's struggles in one of the world's fastest-growing e-commerce marketplaces, where it competes with indigenous conglomerates Reliance Industries Ltd. and Tata Group, as well as Walmart Inc.'s Flipkart, and faces regulatory pressure.</p>
