Amazon's Cloud Unit Wants to Expand Appeal of Cashier-less Stores

<p>Amazon.com Inc intends to engage a broader range of sectors in the technology it built for cashier-less checkout in brick-and-mortar stores according to a vice president. In recent years, the e-commerce business has developed cashier-less storefronts in which cameras and sensors assess what shoppers take and bill them after they leave. It has been selling these systems to food and retail markets in airports, and university stadiums, and a convention centre since 2020.</p>
