Apple Will Invest $450M In Satellite Network To Power Emergency SOS

<p>In order to support Emergency SOS, a service for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro ranges that uses satellite to relay emergency calls, Apple stated today that it will invest $450 million in a satellite network and ground stations as part of its Advanced Manufacturing Fund. When Emergency SOS debuts later this month, the majority of the funds will go to Globalstar, the satellite company with whom Apple already has a contract to offer the service.<br />
