Apple Wins Court Ruling Throwing Out $308.5 Million Patent Verdict

<p>An appeals court throws out a $308.5 million jury verdict against Apple for allegedly infringing a patent. A federal judge ruled that Personalized Media Communications LLC's patent was invalid. Representatives for Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment of PMC. PMC engaged in misconduct before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the judge said. The Federal Circuit finds PMC's "inequitable scheme to extend its patent rights" had prejudiced Apple.</p>
