Australia drafts legislation forcing parental consent for minors using social media

<p>Australia has plans to make social media companies obtain parental consent from minors under the age of 16, who use their platform. Companies that fail to comply might be fined up to A$10M, under the draft legislation, which will also grant Australia's privacy watchdog The Office of Australian Information Commissioner full investigation and enforcement powers to look into any violations.<br /> </p>
