Avast, NortonLifeLock announces merger in mega $8.1bn deal

<p>In the third-largest cybersecurity acquisition of all time, NortonLifeLock has announced that it is acquiring British rival Avast. The deal involves Avast stakeholders receiving cash and stakes worth between $ 8.1 bn to $ 8.6 bn, making NortonLifeLock a Cybersecurity powerhouse. After the acquisition, Avast CEO Ondrej Vlcek will become president and join the board while NortonLifeLock CEO Vincent Pilette continues in the same position.</p>
