Brains Meet Brawn: DeepSeek Backs Unitree with $20.8M to Build Humanoid AI

Chinese AI startup DeepSeek has invested $20.8 million (140.8 million yuan) in robotics manufacturer Unitree during its Shanghai IPO strategic placement. Beyond the equity purchase, the two Hangzhou-based companies agreed to collaborate on developing advanced AI models to power humanoid robots—combining DeepSeek's AI software capabilities with Unitree's hardware and motion control expertise to build smarter robot "brains."
