Broadcom Counting on EU to Approve $61 billion VMware Merger Soon

<p>By citing rivalry from Amazon, Microsoft, and Google, American chipmaker Broadcom plans to request early European Union antitrust approval for its proposed $61 billion acquisition of cloud computing giant VMware. The deal, which was announced in May and is currently the second-largest internationally this year, represents Broadcom's attempt to expand its company into enterprise software. It is to be noted that Broadcom is yet to get EU's approval as of now.</p>
