Broadcom to acquire VMware in mega $61B deal

<p>Broadcom has announced that it will buy VMware for $61B. Broadcom will assume $8 B in debt as part of the deal, which is a mix of cash and stock. Broadcom has spent a significant amount of money in recent years on acquiring a few critical software components. Even though Symantec and CA are more legacy investments, analyst sees some synergy between the three software parts.<br />
