Broadcom’s Proposed $61B VMware Acquisition Scrutinized By UK Regulators

<p>The planned merger between Broadcom and VMware has been the subject of an investigation by the UK&#39;s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), which is trying to assess if it will harm competition. An agreement to buy VMware for $61 billion in stock and cash was initially disclosed by infrastructure software and semiconductor company Broadcom in May. Tracy Woo, a senior analyst with Forrester, noted that Broadcom had a bad track record when it comes to prior acquisitions.</p>
