Byju Raveendran Ordered to Pay Over $1 Billion by US Court in Default Judgment

A US bankruptcy court issued a default judgment against Byju’s founder, Byju Raveendran, ordering him to pay over $1.07 billion. The ruling stems from his repeated refusal to comply with court orders regarding the discovery of $533 million allegedly diverted from Byju's US subsidiary, Alpha. The court cited a "willful pattern of delay and obfuscation."
