Cloud for Equity: Anthropic Secures $11.6B Akamai Deal and a Shot at a 5% Stake

Anthropic has inked a seven-year, $11.6 billion cloud infrastructure agreement with Akamai Technologies. As part of the contract—which could expand up to $20 billion—Akamai issued a warrant granting the AI lab the right to acquire a stake of up to 5% in the company, tying future equity vesting directly to further service expansions.
