Costly Equipment Prevent Deployment Of 5G Networks In Africa

<p>Although the fifth generation (5G) mobile network has been adopted rather slowly in places like North America, the Gulf Cooperation Council, and Western Europe, its penetration is predicted to reach over 80% by 2027 against the backdrop of rising 5G smartphone usage. However, the new Ericsson mobility research predicts that 5G mobile subscribers in Africa, where 5G adoption is currently the slowest in the world, would only reach 10% within the same time.</p>
