Cybersecurity Powerhouse: Proofpoint Takes Varonis Private in $6.3 Billion Cash Deal

Thoma Bravo-owned Proofpoint has agreed to acquire data security firm Varonis Systems in an all-cash transaction valued at $6.3 billion. Paying $49.75 per share, Proofpoint aims to combine its human-centric cybersecurity tools with Varonis’s data protection platform, taking Varonis private to build an enterprise platform for AI-driven data risks and cybersecurity threats.
