<p>Democrats introduced a bill that would outlaw nearly all digital ad targeting on platforms like Facebook, Google, and other data brokers' ad markets. It allows for some minor exceptions, such as "broad" location-based targeting. Contextual advertising, such as ads that are tailored to online content, would be permitted. The bill, if passed, would drastically alter Facebook and Google's business models.</p>
