Dialing Back Abroad: AT&T Sells Mexican Business for $2 Billion Cash

AT&T has agreed to sell 100% of its Mexican operations to a 50-50 consortium of Grupo Televisa and Fintech Holdings for $2 billion in cash. The deal allows AT&T to exit Mexico’s mobile market to focus on its core U.S. broadband and wireless networks, while enabling Televisa and Fintech to expand their presence against dominant regional telecom rivals.
