Dolby buys Millicast to bring ultra low latency to global user base

<p>Dolby Laboratory has revealed that it has acquired the WebRTC-based platform, Millicast as it looks to expand its global developer platform. Millicast brings the ability to broadcast in high quality and that too in sub-second latency. The company will be looking to integrate Millicast into existing APIs like Dolby.io which was released in 2020. The company has revealed that there is a good overlap in the user base for global adoption.</p>
