DoorDash Proposes $3.6 Billion Acquisition of UK-Based Deliveroo to Expand Global Reach
U.S. food delivery giant DoorDash has made a non-binding offer to acquire British counterpart Deliveroo for £2.7 billion ($3.6 billion), offering 180 pence per share. Deliveroo's board is inclined to recommend the proposal to shareholders, pending agreement on final terms. DoorDash has until May 23 to formalize the bid. The acquisition would grant DoorDash access to 10 new markets, bolstering its European presence following its 2021 acquisition of Finnish firm Wolt.
